Debate: Leadership and World Foreign Policy

The Student Alliance Debate, held at LSE Clement House, brought students from across London together for an open and engaging discussion on leadership and world foreign policy. The event created a space for thoughtful debate, encouraging participants to examine complex global issues through dialogue and exchange.

The debate opened with a discussion on what it means to be a good leader, inviting participants to reflect on the qualities, responsibilities, and challenges associated with leadership in both national and international contexts. Students shared perspectives shaped by diverse academic backgrounds and personal experiences, highlighting the multifaceted nature of leadership in a globalised world.

The second session focused on the role of developed countries in the crises faced by least developed countries. This discussion prompted critical reflection on foreign policy, global responsibility, and international power dynamics. Through respectful debate and reasoned argument, participants explored differing viewpoints while engaging with difficult and timely questions.

Throughout the event, the emphasis remained on confidence, knowledge, and constructive dialogue. The debate format encouraged students to articulate ideas clearly, listen actively to opposing perspectives, and engage thoughtfully with global issues.
