Les Misérables and the End-of-Term Meeting

A group visit to the musical Les Misérables marks the end of the academic term and brings our members together through a shared cultural experience. This event provided World Student Alliance members with an opportunity to step away from academic commitments and conclude the term in a reflective and engaging manner.

Les Misérables, based on Victor Hugo’s novel, is one of the world’s most celebrated stage musicals. Through its music and storytelling, it explores themes of justice, resilience, compassion, and social change. Experiencing the musical together encouraged discussion among members not only about its artistic and musical impact, but also about its wider social and historical significance—many of which strongly align with WSA’s values of global awareness and empathy.

Beyond the performance itself, the evening served as a moment of connection and celebration at the close of term. Sharing this experience strengthened bonds within our community and provided space for informal conversation and reflection on the months of learning and collaboration behind us.

This event brought our term to a meaningful close and highlighted the role of cultural experiences in building community. As the World Student Alliance, we look forward to continuing to organise events that combine cultural engagement, reflection, and connection beyond the classroom.
